KENYA WITH THE LEGACY UNTOLD

Kenya is the place safari dreams are made of. The iconic images you see of a luxury African safari are often captured here – the sunrise hot air balloon floating over golden grasses, the white canvas tented camp evoking a bygone era, and the Maasai with their colorful clothing and ornate jewelry. If you’ve seen the famous film Out of Africa, you’ve probably dreamed of going to Kenya without even realizing it, and when you plan your trip with The Legacy Untold we can fly you in the exact biplane made famous by that Hollywood classic.

Our travelers come to Kenya to see the Great Migration and for Big Five game drives. The wildlife experiences here are authentic and raw, and thrilling moments turn into lifelong memories when you start and end your day at atmospheric luxury lodges and camps. Watch as elephants gather to drink at a nearby watering hole from your private infinity pool or from an underground “hide” while you sip on the perfect scotch. Watch the sunset as you sink into a vintage copper bathtub. Stay at a mobile camp that moves with the migration and feel the feet of 1.5 million wildebeest and antelope thunder by your tent. Northern Kenya offers more diversity to the experience with rich cultural experiences and out of the ordinary safaris on foot or on horseback. You can combine Kenya with a classic beach experience in Zanzibar, the Seychelles, or the Maldives, or you can situate yourself in a gorgeous private villa on the lesser known Kenyan coast. When you stopover in Nairobi, you can experience some of our favorite wildlife interactions – vetted for ethics – like playing with an orphaned baby elephant or sharing breakfast with a giraffe.

PLANNING YOUR TRIP

WHEN TO GO

The Great Migration is unpredictable but generally passes through Kenya from July to September, which coincides with the dry season from June to October. This is also the most popular and most expensive time to visit and lodges book up far in advance.

GETTING THERE

There is a direct flight from NYC to Nairobi on Kenya Airways. Many of our honeymoon travelers plan a bush and beach adventure where we pair Kenya with a beach destination like Zanzibar, Seychelles or Mozambique that are easy to get to.

REQUIREMENTS

We share the most up to date travel restrictions and policies for each country with our travelers. All travelers should check with their doctor for medical and vaccine information as it relates to their trip. Our safari packing guide is a must for anyone planning a luxury safari in Kenya.
