TANZANIA WITH THE LEGACY UNTOLD

Tanzania is where you’ll find some of the world’s most dazzling sights – Africa’s highest peak, the world’s largest volcanic caldera, the greatest migration of mammals on the planet. This is the place that first time safari-goers dream of, and experienced explorers return to time and again. If seeing the Big Five and The Great Migration is a priority, classic safari game drives and soaring hot air balloon rides await in the Serengeti. We also love traveling deeper in Tanzania: embark on a more rustic walking safari, join a bow and arrow hunt with a nomadic tribe, or venture into the Mahale Mountains to visit with the world’s largest population of wild chimpanzees. Just off the coast, dive into culinary explorations, colorful festivals, and serene luxury surrounded by white sand and turquoise water in Zanzibar’s archipelago of islands both big and small.

Thanks to easy domestic connectivity by road, air (commercial flights as well as reasonably priced private charters) and sea, we can design a diversity of experience in Tanzania that is almost impossible to replicate elsewhere on the continent within a single country. From mountaintops to ocean depths, from spectacular sunrises to sublime sunsets, from energizing bush breakfasts to celebratory sundowners and everything in between, we invite you to explore this exquisite gem of East Africa with The Legacy Untold.

WHEN TO GO

Many lodges in Tanzania close during the long rains of April and May. The Great Migration typically passes through the Serengeti from July through November, and the Mara River Crossing generally happens from July through September. Although the exact whereabouts of the herds are impossible to predict ahead of time, we work to get you within driving distance of the action, and often its right before you while you sip your morning coffee. The dry season in Zanzibar is from July to September, but the balmy tropical climate makes it pleasant year round.

REQUIREMENTS

Americans are required to have a visa to enter Tanzania, which can be obtained on arrival but we recommend doing this in advance to save time. Check with www.cdc.gov as well as with your doctor regarding any vaccines or travel medications that you may need or want to travel to Tanzania.
