ICELAND WITH THE LEGACY UNTOLD

Waterfalls pierced by rainbows, wild icelandic horses backdropped by magnificent cliffs, black sand swirling into big blue glaciers. Helicopter rides to bubbling hot springs. Minimalistic hotels tucked into their otherworldly surroundings. Iceland is a photographer’s dream and heaven for adrenaline junkies as well as design lovers and luxury seekers. There are many ways to explore Iceland, and how you see it depends on how much time you have. If you live on the east coast of the USA, you might opt to fit your Icelandic adventure into one action-packed long weekend. If you can stay longer, a circuit on the coastal Ring Road allows for a slower-paced journey and getting off the beaten path.

Iceland’s picture-perfect wonders are famous for a reason. Take a dip in the famous Blue Lagoon surrounded by moss covered lava fields. Feel the power of the Strokkur Geyser from just a short distance away. Go scuba diving under the ice, roam the tundra in a Super Jeep or snowmobile to waterfalls and glaciers, and do it again in search of the northern lights. Hike with an expert guide into the surreal dreamy world of an ice cave or into the underworld of a volcano. Traveling by Superjeep or helicopter allows for more flexible routes off the tourist track, and we have a network of excellent guides who will take you to the best hidden ice caves, secret geothermal lagoons, and lesser known waterfalls away from the crowds. We can even arrange for you to climb a glacier with a climate scientist and learn about glacial retreat with your own two feet on the ice.

PLANNING YOUR TRIP

WHEN TO GO

Iceland is a year-round destination, though the season may determine some of your activities. The best time to see the Northern Lights is in the darker shorter days from the end of September through April. In December you’ll see very little daylight, whereas at the height of the summer the “midnight sun” never actually sets. The spring and summer are best for whale watching.

GETTING THERE

Reykjavik is a 4 to 5-hour direct flight from NYC, and also easy to get to from other European cities.
