CAPE TOWN WITH THE LEGACY UNTOLD

With its dramatic coastline and sophisticated nightlife, Cape Town is one of the most exciting cities in the world. The “Mother City” is also a cultural melting pot and a hotbed for culinary innovation. In just one day you can paraglide over Signal Hill, swim alongside wild penguins, and enjoy a sublime dinner cooked by a world famous chef. You could choose to climb Table Mountain or just gaze at it from a sumptuous bathtub in your own private suite, go for a thrilling helicopter ride around the peninsula, or dive for diamonds just off the coast. Travel deeper and explore lesser known parts of the city with all of your senses on a guided art walk or a street food tour. Exploring the nearby Cape Winelands is its own fabulous adventure. We recommend spending at least three nights (but ideally 4-5) taking in all of the city’s hidden treasures and opportunities for adventure.

PLANNING YOUR TRIP

WHEN TO GO

Cape Town sits at the southern tip of Africa in the Southern Hemisphere. Cape Town is generally warm and dry during summer months from November through March. Winter months (June through September) are colder and rainier, so some activities may not be available, however many people visit during this time of year since it’s a popular time for a safari in other parts of the country. Festive season in December-January is the most popular and likewise the most expensive time to visit.

GETTING THERE

There are sometimes direct flights from New York; otherwise, a direct flight to Johannesburg is easy to come by from the U.S., and Cape Town is just a short 2-hour flight away.

REQUIREMENTS

Check with your doctor about any necessary vaccinations or travel medications ahead of your trip.
